First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR)

The LAB and RC are actively pursuing the creation of an interest-based First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR), at the direction of the signatory First Nations of the Framework Agreement, to be governed by and accountable to Framework Agreement and Self-governing First Nations and established in accordance with the Vision and Goals set out in the FNLGR Proposal of November 2021.

The LAB and RC, with the support of the Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA), continue to work with Canada and seek federal approval to fund the FNLGR and authorize the negotiation of any changes to the Framework Agreement and federal legislation required to give effect to the FNLGR.

The LAB and RC continue to work with Framework Agreement and Self-governing First Nations, as well as other First Nation organizations and stakeholders to develop and refine the FNLGR and will provide a report on its progress to the Framework Agreement First Nations by March 31, 2023.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The First Nation Land Management Resource Centre (RC) in partnership with the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA), is embarking on a multi-year, multi-million-dollar national project to establish and operate a First Nations run, independent, non-profit, incorporated organization focused on delivering land registry services to First Nations in Canada.

We are currently seeking motivated and qualified individuals to fill the following positions to support the development and ongoing operations associated with the First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR):

Please note: The RC is posting these positions on behalf of the FNLGR which is being developed by the RC and its partners. Once operational, it is expected that these positions will transfer to the FNLGR as an independent not for profit corporation.  Accordingly, employment with the RC will be temporary and end once the FNLGR is operational.
