On November 30th, 2013, Dokis First Nation members voted to re assume jurisdiction over their lands and resources! In a huge show of community support, 85% of registered members who cast their ballot, voted in favour of regaining control of their community’s Land Governance under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management. Congratulations!
“It is with great pleasure that I congratulate the Dokis First Nation for their successful Land Code Vote. This is a well deserving community who remained relentless in their quest to succeed. I am confident that the benefits derived from their land management jurisdiction will bring immeasurable returns to Dokis and their surrounding community for years to come.”
