In an outstanding show of community support, Nak’azdli Whut’en Nation voted in favor of their community Land Code. On October 2nd, 2016, the official numbers showed that participating voters ratified the Land Code with over 91% approval! As the 66th First Nation to ratify their community’s Land Code, under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management, the people of Nak’azdli Whut’en have taken the reigns to recover control of their lands, resources and future.
