Land Decolonized is a podcast series launched in November 2020 that explores the practical side of The Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management. The unscripted conversations cover various topics on the challenges overcome and benefits achieved by First Nations that sought to re-established governance over their reserve lands.

SEASON 3, EPISODE 58:
Andrew Beynon—Director of Land Code Governance at the First Nations Land Management Resource Centre (RC)—talks about the urgent need to reform Canada’s Additions-to-Reserve (ATR) process – and the cost of continued delays.
Under the current ATR process, it can take years—even decades—for First Nations to add lands to their reserve base. That’s land with the potential to support economic development, protect the environment, and strengthen cultural identity.
Under the direction of the Lands Advisory Board and the RC, Andrew is leading efforts to push the provincial and federal governments toward meaningful and long-overdue ATR reform.
If your Nation would like to support this work and contribute to the growing call for a respectful, efficient, and modern ATR process, contact Andrew. Together, we can show the true cost of delay—and the power of progress.
