Au cours des 25 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, l\u2019Accord-cadre a permis \u00e0 99 Premi\u00e8res Nations de neuf provinces et territoires de remplacer les dispositions relatives aux terres de la Loi sur les Indiens par leurs propres lois. Il s\u2019agit de jalons cl\u00e9s vers la d\u00e9colonisation des r\u00e8gles de gouvernance des terres de r\u00e9serve. L\u2019Accord-cadre permet aux Premi\u00e8res Nations signataires de se soustraire \u00e0 l\u2019application de 44 articles de la Loi sur les Indiens relatifs aux terres en les rempla\u00e7ant par un code foncier con\u00e7u et approuv\u00e9 par leur communaut\u00e9 respective.
