Our team at the First Nations Management Resource Centre is cutting edge, dedicated and experienced in assisting First Nations to develop workable solutions to the everyday challenges of community led lands and resources governance. We are currently searching for motivated and qualified candidates for the following position:

Executive Assistant to the Executive Director, FNLMRC (1 Position)

The Executive Assistant will work directly with the Executive Director and will be responsible for performing a number of administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be reliable, task-oriented, self-motivated and capable of managing their workload in a faced-paced environment. Specifically, this position will assist the Executive Director to fulfill the FNLMRC’s responsibilities under the Framework Agreement [FA] including, but not limited to:
• Performing general office duties such as answering telephones, typing of letters, emailing, faxing, photocopying, organizing files and digital media;
• Reconciliation of Executive Director purchases on corporate account;
• Maintaining a meeting calendar for the Executive Director;
• Making travel arrangements for the Executive Director;
• Minute taking at meetings and conference calls as needed;
• Assisting with various briefing and meeting material as needed;
• Preparing documentation as needed to assist the Executive Director to prepare annual work plans, quarterly/annual reports, monthly LAB and RC board reports;
• Assisting with the coordination of events and or meetings as needed;
• Liaising and build positive relationships with First Nations and institutions to enhance the implementation of the FA.
• Any other related workload in keeping with the FNLMRC’s responsibilities in implementing the FA.

Curriculum Development – Knowledge Sharing Specialist (1 Position)

Assist Lands Advisory Board (LAB), the Resource Centre (RC) Board and First Nations (FNs) to fulfill their responsibilities under the Framework Agreement on First Nations Lands Management (FA), including:
• Develop, maintain and update online course content and reference materials. This will include related course materials, booklets, course presentations, and relevant resource materials.
• Using specialized software for e-learning and graphics, design online courses;
• Work with staff, advisors and other subject matter experts assist with the implementation of the RC’s Training, Mentorship & Professional Development (TMPD) online curriculum development and strategy;
• Assist in the preparation of TMPD briefings, and possibly other briefings for the LAB, RC Board or RC executive;
• Liaise and build positive relationships with educational partners, institutions and other professional lands & resource training providers; and,
• Any other related workload in keeping with the LAB, RC and FNs’ responsibilities in implementing the FA.

JOB POSTING: Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Executive Director

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Lheidli T’enneh First Nation requires a Executive Director who will assume responsibility for all aspects of the First Nations general operations. Under the direction of Chief and Council the Executive Director is responsible for the overall coordination, organizing, planning and management of the administration, program departments and First Nation operations in accordance with the goals, objectives, policies, and plans approved by Chief and Council. The successful applicant will require strong management and supervisory experience and be comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.
This is a permanent full-time, salaried position. Starting salary to be negotiated based upon the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
• Overall management of all operations, programs services, personnel and finances of the First Nation under the direction of Chief and Council.
• Develop and implement appropriate financial, administrative, personnel and human resource policies and procedures.
• Review the effectiveness of the administrative/financial operations, plans, policies, procedures and coordinates the implementation of appropriate revisions where necessary.
• Attend all Chief and Council meetings and provide updates, reports and recommendations as required on a regular basis.
• Develop, manage and monitor all budgets, spending and capital assets of the First Nation
• Ensure that all reporting is completed accurately and on schedule along with all funding applications and contractual are met.
• Provide guidance, support and coordination to all departments and program managers
• Represent the First Nation in the public and to outside agencies and governments
• Demonstrate professionalism, tact and diplomacy at all times

Job Posting: Lheidli T’enneh Lands Manager

The Lands Manager will implement the Lheidli T’enneh Land Code including environmental management, development of community land use plans, development, implementation and oversight of the Lands Authority, Taxation, Capital & Community Infrastructure (O & M), and Public Works. Will work directly with the Lheidli T’enneh Lands Authority.

JOB DUTIES
• Negotiation, development, implementation and enforcement of Land-Use Plans including administration of taxation structures, environmental management, frameworks, community planning and development of local Land Code Laws.
• Liaison and partnership with Lheidli T’enneh Members, the Lands Authority, Chief and Council, and both Provincial and Federal Government bodies.
• Responsible for the entire Lands Management Department, including financial and administrative management.
• To provide assessment and recommendations regarding On-Reserve Land-Use Referrals that may lead to the development of partnership, investment and capital infrastructure with various stakeholders.
• Technical and job expertise as a Specialist Advisor in the areas of Land-Use Planning and Land Code Management and Taxation and applicable legislation.
• Present products at workshops and meetings.
• Inform other staff and community members on the Lheidli T’enneh Land Code.
• Prepares regular progress / monthly reports on the process to management and political (internal) representatives.
• Support management in strategic planning and program implementation.
