Malahat First Nation votes yes!

Malahat First Nation is the 55th community to ratify its land code under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management!  On Monday, January 12, 2015, in an impressive show of community support, Malahat First Nation voted in favor of their land code thus re-establishing control over the governance of their lands.  Our congratulations to Malahat First Nation for all of their hard work and commitment.

Congratulations Snaw-Naw-As

After an enormous four-year effort to work through issues with their Individual Agreement, on Dec. 15-16th, voting members of the Snaw-Naw-As (Nanoose) First Nation voted 91% in favour of ratifying their Individual Agreement with Canada. The community previously approved their Land Code, and now, with the approval of the Individual Agreement, becomes another Operational First Nation under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management.

Congratulations Snaw-Naw-As!
